Dear West Raleigh Baseball Families,

West Raleigh Baseball Association is pleased to announce Korey Dunbar has accepted the role of Executive Director and will officially start on March 16, 2023.  Joining Korey as part of the West Raleigh Family is his wife, Megan.

The Search Committee and Board worked tirelessly to find an exceptional candidate, leveraging an external search firm to solicit candidates and manage a rigorous, multi-step interview process to narrow the selection to the top candidates – which led us to Korey.  Korey is not only a decorated athlete with a successful baseball history but more importantly has extensive experience running baseball programs, working with youth, and fundraising.

Korey graduated from UNC where he played catcher on the baseball team and made a trip to the College World Series.  He was drafted by the Marlins and played a few years of Minor League ball before serving as an Assistant Baseball Coach at Barton College where he led their player development, recruitment, and summer camps.  Most recently Korey was a middle school Language Arts teacher.

In asking Korey what he is most looking forward to in joining West Raleigh he said, “I am extremely excited to join WRBA as the next Executive Director.  With West Raleigh’s rich baseball history and national recognition, I am honored to help lead this next generation of athletes and their families towards success in their player development process.”

We are looking forward to Korey continuing the storied legacy of West Raleigh Baseball by providing a highly competitive experience in a safe and family friendly atmosphere, promoting the virtues of sportsmanship and community.

Please plan to meet Korey on Opening Day on Saturday, March 18 from 9am-12pm and join us in welcoming Korey and Megan to the West Raleigh Baseball family!

Sincerely,

The WRBA Board of Directors

    Good Morning,
I’m reaching out to you with a concern regarding the upkeep of the facilities at WR.
The last several times we’ve been to games and practices, the trash cans have been overflowing throughout the park, the women’s restrooms are filthy, and usually only one stall is operable (yesterday and the day before). I feel as though the amount of time and money we WR families spend here, it would be nice to know the bathrooms are being cleaned and operable for parents and grandparents.

I would appreciate a response from you sir.
