Coach Selection:

  • All Star Coaches will be submitted by the Executive Director for Board approval by January BOD meeting, with consideration to previous year(s) evaluations (both AS and rec) and recommendations from the Spring Commissioners.
  • All Head All Star Coaches must be a Head or Assistant Coach in the corresponding League in the Spring.
  • Blue and Red  (7 - 12U) All Star Coaches will be reviewed and approved at the January BOD meeting.

Player Participation Notes:

  • Players must play in the WR Spring Regular Season for consideration to the All Star Program.
  • All evaluations will be done by the Spring League Head Coaches. Coaches will be evaluating practices and games for any player interested to be in consideration for a WR All Star team.
  • The coaches will put forth the best teams to represent West Raleigh at the All Star level.
  • If committed to play on a West Raleigh All Star Team, play on another (i.e., non-WR) travel or all star team is strictly prohibited. Players knowingly playing on another (non-WR) travel team will be subject to dismissal from the West Raleigh All Star Program. Should Coaches be aware that players on their team are playing for a non-WR travel team, they should communicate this knowledge with the Executive Director.
  • Participation in a Scholastic Sport (e.g., Middle School) is allowed.
  • Previous participation on a West Raleigh All Star team does not guarantee future placement.

Additional Notes

  • Extreme concern must be given to player safety and arm care. To allow each team (9U – 12U) to form earlier, we must not sacrifice the safety and well-being of our players
  • Communication between Coaches (e.g., Blue & Red; All Star and Regular Season) will be vitally important to ensure the process goes smoothly and is a good experience for all players and families
  • Uniform designs and color schemes must be consistent between teams (Blue, Red and White) and across age groups (7U – 12U)
  • Players on each group (Blue and Red) will choose 24 separate jersey numbers to allow for play across each team throughout the Spring
